Fat Cat Toys - For Your Toughest Chewing Dogs

People always tell us how tough their dogs are with toys. For many heavy chewers, toys don't stand up to the test. Our favorite solution is just about any toy by Fat Cat. The canvas is tough, they come in shapes that are great for tug games or for your dog to slam around. The secret is in the material but also in the stitches that are contained on the inside of the toy. There are no items to pull off and no stitches to rip out. Just great!

We have many options in our online store. Bossy Cat- Snooty Cat; Bird Crackler; CatFish Crackler; Frog Crackler; Skunk CracklerFloppability Barnyard Bullies - Chicken; Mini Puppy Teethers - Cat; Tractor - Dancing Dog - Wheels Toy; Mini Dog Toy - Pitch a Porcupine; and many others.

Visit us at DoggieCakes.com for these and other great items for your pet.

Hello World - From Doggie Cakes

Wow, it's been a long time since our last blog entry. We have been just as busy online, but mostly at Facebook and Twitter. We also now have more products on our website than ever, usually adding at least one new product a day.

Doggie Cakes, on Main Street, in New Port Richey, FL shut it's doors in November 2009 to focus on online sales, events in local counties, wholesale orders out of state, and cake/cookie orders for rescue groups and local stores such as Paw Wash Plus in Trinity and The Hound's Meow in Lutz.

So many new products were developed in the last few months, with many finding their debut at the Sweetheart Waddle in February. The cookie featured in the photo to the left is a "fortune cookie." $5.99 on our website for 12 cookies. Unbleached Flour, Pumpkin Puree, Eggs, Turkey Bacon, and Baking Powder. As you can see, we're still using the same human-grade ingredients, no sugar, no salt, and only items that are safe for dogs. If a recipe calls for peanut butter or apple sauce, we make that too. The peanut butter comes from raw, unsalted peanuts that we shuck and grind ourselves with peanut oil. The apple sauce is made from freshly peeled apples and water in our crock pot.

There will be more entries, this is also a test of the system as Blogger changed some functionality in May. Talk to you soon. Find us on Facebook. http://www.Facebook.com/DoggieCakes

Pet Blessing by Yogi Lama Gursam - September 12, 2009 - New Port Richey, FL

Doggie Cakes - Dog Bakery and Boutique is reposting the flyer content for this event. We will not be able to attend, but make sure to catch our Dog Picnic on the 27th.

Pet Blessing by Yogi Lama Gursam

Date/Time:
Saturday September 12, 2009 - from 4-6 pm
Location: JB STARKEY WILDERNESS PARK

Lama will give a short Buddhist Dharma talk, at Starkey Park in New Port Richey. Then, the animals will come up one by one and receive a special blessing from a sacred object and have prayers said with them especially for their benefit. If people cannot bring their animals, they can bring a picture.

Lama says he is developing his connection more with many animals at this point and sees more and more how they are our protectors and friends and need to be cherished, as well as appreciated for their divine qualities, too. He even had one small puppy attending his classes in South India. Of her own will, she came in when the class started and left promptly after his class ended.

All friendly pets or animals, their families and friends are welcome.

Doggie Cakes - Custom Dog Cookie Promotional Gifts

Doggie Cakes, on Main Street in New Port Richey, FL can produce custom dog cookies, with labels, to promote your business or event.

The picture to the left shows an example of such a promo. It is an Apple Cinnamon Bone, with custom printed paper wrapper, dog paw bag, and dog paw ribbon. The cookies are freshly baked, flavorful, liked by most dogs, and less costly than many of our meat-filled treats.

The cookie is 4 1/2" long, and the ingredients are: all purpose flour, all natural applesauce, vegetable oil, honey, eggs, wheat germ, water, ground cinnamon, and baking soda.

We can also trim the bags, heat seal them - thus eliminating the use and cost of ribbon, and offering a tighter presentation.

The couple who is "Doggie Cakes" is made up of a talented baker and creative graphic designer/artist - so let us know your ideas and if you need a quote for your upcoming event or business promotion.

Doggie Cakes - New Port Richey, FL - Listed in Summer 2009 Issue - GulfCoast Dog Magazine

Doggie Cakes, on Main Street in New Port Richey was mentioned in the Summer 2009 issue of The GulfCoast Dog Magazine (Barking Section - Other Stuff You'll Like, Page 91 - Page 46 of the PDF). It features a photo and details on handmade plush dog toys by local resident Judy Benjamin. They are one-of-a-kind and available for purchase in our store, and on our website.

Once a specific design sells, the listing will be pulled from our website. The toys are sewn with soft, colorful fabric and stuffed with fiber-fill. Judy designs them for the safety of your pet, without extra parts that can come loose.

This is a very cool surprise for us, and we appreciate it - as we continue to seek out a larger market share.

The GulfCoast Dog Magazine is an upscale dog publication - from Punta Gorda and distributed in Charlotte, Lee, Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas, Manatee, Sarasota Counties of Southwest Florida. They concentrate exclusively on Dogs, their owners, and the lives they lead together.

On their website, they say that the magazine, "touches a new generation of dog lover, combining both lifestyle and service into one lighthearted and innovative publication."

This magazine, which comes out 5 times a year, is really well put together, informative, and fun to read and look at. Copies of the magazine are available for free in our store, while supplies last.
